Why doesn't my INLINE 4 or INLINE 5 adapter work with INSITE version 5.4 or other older Cummins software applications?

Versions of INSITE earlier than 6.3 may not be RP1210 compatible. Since the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters use the RP1210 protocol, they will only work with software that supports the RP1210 protocol. What Windows operating systems software will the PC driver for the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters support?

For RS-232, the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 PC drivers support Windows™ XP, 2000, Millennium Edition, NT Service Pack 6a, and 98 Second Edition. For USB, the INLINE 5 PC driver only supports Windows™ XP.

Will the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters work with my QuickCheck III software?

The INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters will not work with the QuickCheck III software, however, they will work with the RP1210-compatible releases of QuickCheck 4, QuickSpec 4, and QuickTrip 4 software available on this site when using the optional RS-232 serial cable to the Palm handheld. Note that you will need cable part number 3165017 to interface with the compatible Palm handheld models listed here. Will the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters work with non-Cummins RP1210-compatible software applications?

As long as these non-Cummins software applications are truly RP1210-compliant, the Cummins INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters will work with them. However, some non-Cummins applications have proprietary features that make them not fully compliant with the RP1210 standard and they will not work properly with the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 adapters. Test the application with an INLINE 4 or INLINE 5 adapter to verify compatibility.
