The QuickCheck 4 installation
is a typical Windows-based, self-executing installation. The QC Configurator
4 program is included in this installation. The install program sets
up the applications for the handheld organizer and also installs the
QuickCheck 4 Conduit, which is used by the HotSync Manager to send
the stored engine data from the handheld organizer to the host PC.
You must have an INLINE 4 or INLINE 5 adapter for the QuickCheck 4
application to read data.
The steps for the QuickCheck 4
software installation are listed below. It is already assumed that
you have previously installed the handheld Desktop software. If
you
have not installed this software, see the handheld handbook for instructions
on installing the Desktop software.
Download the QuickCheck 4
zip file by clicking on the button above.
Unzip the executable file using
zip/unzip software.
Click on the Windows Start
menu and click Run.
Click on the Browse button
and locate the file you have downloaded.
Click the OK button to install
the QuickCheck 4 desktop component (the Conduit), which
will also register the Palm Application with the Palm HotSync Manager.
Follow the onscreen instructions
to complete the installation. The installation places all PC components
into the root directory of the handheld organizer (typically
C:\Palm or C:\Program Files\Palm). However, QuickCheck 4
and QC Configurator 4 components are placed in the \qc4 directory
immediately below the Palm root directory.
Perform a HotSync operation
to install the QuickCheck 4 and QC Configurator 4 applications
on the handheld organizer.
